Precision 3 Maintenance Kit

The O-ring on my left-side-only power meter finally gave up the ghost and I’d purchased 2 maintenance kits to be covered in the future.

Long story short: the new cover has the O-ring already in place and ultimately snapped in as expected.

I want to add that my first few attempts at installation did not go well to the point where I just “knew“ that the cover itself must have been the incorrect model.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts, I almost feverishly compared the OEM cover (which clips into place EASILY) to the new one with a magnifying glass to be absolutely certain that the two were the same - they were- and finally found the sweet spot and once found, the new cover fits right into place.

All’s well that ends well and can advise that if the new cover doesn’t lock TIGHTLY into place, you’re doing it wrong and it won’t stay on during a ride

Not to mention that $20 for a piece of molded plastic is too much.
I have 4 4i meters. Generally happy, but this stings.

Put new batteries in my power meter when on holiday in Thailand. Wouldn’t connect to the app. Put old one back in and it worked. Bought new batteries again and still nothing on both sides

Changed the battery per instructions including putting battery in upside down for 5 seconds to reset power meter. Spun cranks to wake up power meter. Held Wahoo Bolt up to power meter and still won't pair. Yes the battery is new and has a full charge and yes the Wahoo Bolt is fully charged and in pair mode.

I purchased the single-sided power meter. Not only does it provide power and cadence but additionally encompasses the “Find My” feature if you have an Apple product. No Airtag needed, it’s built into the power meter. The only downside are the child proof clips and in order to setup the “Find My” feature, you have to remove the battery three times and those clips are brutal! I understand a new design is on the way from 4iiii.
